How To Maintain A Germ Free House

By Edward Bailey

Everyone thinks that the home is the cleanest and safest place until you swipe on a surface and put it on microscope. There are a lot of germs that will keep you constantly ill and on medication. Though it is impossible to eliminate germs from the house, it is possible to reduce their numbers to a point that you have a healthy home. Here are tips on how to maintain a germ free home.

Set up a routine to ensure that the entire house is cleaned at least once a week or month. This should also apply to the area surrounding the house. Most people will clean areas that can be seen and those that are commonly used. A lot of other areas are left dirty and become the breeding ground for germs. By ensuring that the entire house is fully covered, you avoid accumulation of germs.

Keep your house dry at all times. A moist environment provides the best thriving place or factory for germs. Water also means that the germs can stick on a surface and be easily transferred to other areas. If all the rooms are left dry, the germs do not have a breeding ground. Keep your windows open to ensure free circulation of air and avoid accumulation of pathogens. Ensure that the room is well lit so that germs do not accumulate.

Provide proper ventilation. Enclosed places are usually moist and will therefore cause accumulation of disease causing microorganisms. Free air takes away germs that have already accumulated. Circulating area will keep a room dry therefore free of pathogens. You may also use a heater and air conditioning to initiate air circulation.

Disinfect cleaning sponges and dusters. These materials are used to clean dirty areas and get rid of pathogens. It means that concentration of the pathogens on the sponges is high. Once the sponges remain unattended, they will generate more disease causing organisms. During wiping, these pathogens will be spread to different surfaces. Though the surfaces appear clean, they will still spread germs to your house.

Keep the bathroom clean and dry. Bathrooms are prone to dirt because of the activities that take place there. Moisture accumulation makes the situation worse because the germs can thrive. The bathroom should be cleaned and disinfected to ensure that germs have no place to thrive. Open the windows to guarantee a clean environment. Further, take advantage of natural lighting to keep dry environment. Those taking showers in the bathroom will spread pathogens instead of leaving the area clean.

Clean your bedding on regular basis. This is supposed to be your most peaceful room. Clean and organize it in a way that makes it appealing to step into the space. De-clutter the bedroom such that it feels peaceful and orderly. Find places to hang some of the clothes before they are folded. Have a bin for all waste and empty it regularly.

Personal hygiene is part of keeping a clean home. A dirty person will spread the germs to the house or from one area to the other. Clean your toothbrush, take a shower, and trim your nails. Keep your hands clean by washing them whenever necessary. Without personal hygiene, diseases and infections will be a normal part of your life.
