Basically, structural glasses are glasses that have been cast in form of rectangular bocks, cubes, large rectangular plates, and tiles. In most cases, they are used to surface the wall. As building material, glasses have been viewed as magical materials with numerous features and uses. Because of these, architects have hugely benefited from the many possibilities and designs. Basically, they are used as glazing materials that are transparent for construction and architectural features like partition, doors, and windows.

Normally, glasses play pivotal roles when applied as facade, a special kind of wall. These facades separate interior for the exteriors. Because of the transparent features, glasses have the ability to open up structures or buildings to the external environment. Basically, there are basic types of glasses in VA such as sheet, float, wired, and patterned glasses. However, these types have been modified through various techniques to provide hybrid varieties. Such hybrid varieties are such as insulating, reflective, safety, tinted and brick glasses among others.

Floating glasses are usually used because of their high monolithic and transparent features. Floating glasses are usually manufactured by melting glass and passing it over melted tin before a slow cooling process. These usually create glasses of uniform thickness, flatness, and excellent optical quality. Though they are frequently utilized on windows, curtain walls, mirrors, and doors, toughening creates safer glasses.

Essentially, structural glazing has been used to create glass facade with the actual structure being hidden behind it. Because of its design it offers some benefits. Such benefits are such as excellent sound insulation, waterproofing quality, easy to clean, and offer protection for load-bearing structures.
