The Right Way To Handle Water Lines Bellevue Wa Replacement

By Lisa Butler

It seems innocent enough, and most homeowners do not give it a second thought until something happens. Either there is no ice in the tray, or there is water pooling on the floor from an unknown source, but in both cases, the culprit is a compromise in the Water lines bellevue wa leading to the ice maker.

In the past, you could only use a quarter inch copper pipe to connect the ice maker to the nearest source of hydro, these days there are a quarter inch flex pipes that come in different lengths from 1' to 20' that you can use to connect to any hydro source. You only need to calculate how far your hydro line will need to be run to buy the pipe with the right length.

First off, when you call the plumbing company, ask for their license number. This is important because if the plumbing company is not licensed, then they are not a legitimate contracting company. And if one of their employees gets hurt while working at your home, or if something massive is damaged at your home because of their work, you will actually be held responsible since you hired an unlicensed and uninsured company.

In either case, it is common for the well-intentioned homeowner to underestimate the scope of the damage and the inherent health risks of removing potentially hazardous hydro and attempt to tackle the hydro damage cleanup themselves. Such honorable do-it-yourself ("DIY") mentality is, undoubtedly, the bedrock of the American psyche but, in some cases, what you do not know can hurt you and hydro damage restoration is such a case.

Next, if they do not bring it up while on the phone call, make sure to ask when the plumber will be able to come out and take care of the problem. With something as serious as a main water line being broken, the plumber should offer same day service. The sooner you react to the problem the better since waiting will only lead to further damage and what implies is further losses.

Locate the angle stop around or under the sink area where you will be tying the line. Close the faucet and shut off hydro to the angle stop. Make sure that you disconnect the flex line running from the angle stop. You might have to use two sets of pliers to remove the line safely. Pliers should be used to attach the angle stop and hold it in place, and the other should be used to unscrew the flex line.

Now, you can attach the Tee Adapter. The adapter should connect to the hydro stop valve, and it should be sized to fit the valve. The important thing is to make sure that the outlet has a quarter inch OD. Tighten the Adapt-A-Tee to the angle stop.

Try and locate the frozen area of the line. If the line is a kitchen or bath faucet, open cabinet doors to see where the line is coming in from. Exterior walls, poorly insulated pipes running across your attic, or pipes entering your home through the foundation are likely areas for freezing to occur. Keep the frozen faucet line(s) open and leave any cabinet doors open to allow heat to circulate in.
