Tsa Horror Stories That No One Wants To Go Through

By Sharon Perry

Those who like to travel often find it unavoidable to have to fly at some point. This means dealing with the Transportation Security Administration, something that might make a lot of people nervous due to the abundance of stories people have shared about their own bad experiences dealing with them. TSA horror stories don't always have to happen every time you go to the airport, and there are some ways that you can avoid this happening to you.

One sad fact many people are aware of is that those who are the most vulnerable are often the ones who receive the most poor treatment. This is unfortunate but true, and it is because the agents think that they'll be able to get away with treating these people badly, as opposed to those who are less vulnerable where they might actually get caught. Those who are disabled, elderly, young, or female are the ones who are most likely to be targeted.

Sometimes the hardest time to go through airport security is during your first time flying. This will be a totally new experience to you, so it is a very good idea to make sure you have thoroughly read and understood the rules and regulation. Taking the time to check your pockets one more time and make sure that you have everything you need, and that all garbage or unnecessary items are thrown away or stowed baggage can also save you a lot of trouble as well.

When you travel by plane, you're probably hungry, tired, sore, and more than a little stressed. This is especially true if you have brought children with you. All of these factors make it very hard to deal with agents when the time comes.

Language barriers just always make things more difficult. This is something that often happens when you travel to a different country. It might be a good idea to get to know the language of the country you're visiting.

When an agent is doing a routine pat down, it can be hard to tell when the action is inappropriate or not. There are randomly selected pat downs, and it can be hard to tell if these are really random or not. It is also difficult to challenge the motives of an agent because of the position of power that they're in.

Because of social networking and review sites, it is easy to find out which airports are known for having friendlier agents and which ones have the less friendly ones. Being equipped with this information can help you choose the right airport. In other cases, it can just help you prepare for what you are about to deal with when you go through security.

For some people, being yelled at can be a very traumatizing experience. This can be even worse when you feel like you might get into serious trouble with the law as a result of what you're being yelled at for. Security agents have a very important job that is necessary to keep people safe when traveling, but they sometimes let their power go to their own heads a bit too much.
