5 Most Prolific WWE Action Figures

By Rebecca Morris

Wresting undoubtedly is an interesting sport to watch. With millions of viewers all across the globe, the WWE has made a name for itself in the world of wrestling entertainment. While some of its top stars have never ventured out of the wrestling realm, others have progressed to establish vibrant careers in the big screen. This article takes a look at some of the most successful WWE action figures the world has seen thus far.

Film bigwig Dwayne Johnson, commonly referred to by his wrestling moniker The Rock, indisputably falls at the top of the list. When he started wrestling in the 1990s, he worked his way up to become famous. His first big accomplishment came with the opportunity to play the main role in The Scorpion King, a big screen hit.

The movie garnered many awards upon its launch. Later on, he played different roles in many popular films, including the Fast and Furious series. Nowadays, The Rock has created his own brand as producers scramble to get a piece of him for their films.

Multiple time champion John Cena is another man to watch. After joining the federation in the early 2000s, he progressed and changed the way viewers saw wrestling. His personal style made it more funky and interesting to watch. This earned him the glorious opportunity to get cast for the WWE produced action movie called The Marine. Thereafter, he landed both major and minor roles in many Hollywood movies.

Another star who rarely gets enough credit is Stone Cold Steve Austin. There are people who know him more for his time in the ring than on film. This notwithstanding, some films he has taken part in are known across all corners of the globe. Among the notable ones are Recoil, The Condemned and The Expendables. He has since retired from wrestling and has not partaken in any films lately.

Hollywood is a place that Dave Batista, a WWE success with six world titles to his name, calls home. At the prime of his wrestling career, he was mostly assigned villainous roles. His persona largely remained the same once he progressed to acting. In most of his movies, he plays the role of a villain. Some great films to watch him perform in include Spectre, The Man with the Iron Fists, Guardians of the Galaxy and Kickboxer.

Thirteen time champion Randy Orton has had his own successes too. Over the years, he has juggled wrestling and acting successfully. He is famous for winning a championship at the youngest recorded age in WWE history. He was only 24 at the time. His significant movies include Countdown, The Condemned 2 and 12 Rounds 2.

While this list is just a tip of the iceberg, the fact is that wrestling has provided a platform for many aspiring actors to nurture their skills. With more money being pumped into producing new big screen films, the future undoubtedly looks bright for stars who are angling to cross over. For viewers, the entertainment will never end.
