Debit Card, Credit Card And VISA Prepaid Card - What Are They?

By Clara Nelson

Debit cards can be a tad bit tricky; the look like credit cards, act like prepaid cards but are debit cards. They are quite similar to a VISA prepaid card.

What Are Credit Cards? Good question, a lot of people are often at a loss when it comes to distinctions between a credit card and a debit card. Unlike debit cards, credit cards are not a part of the debit card programs; they also have rewards accumulating on their use but not under that program.

The perks which you will receive are dependent on the different debit card programs offered by the bank and the place which is allowing you to benefit, like the gas station. These perks can be anything from an airline ticket, cash back, or a discount at a store or restaurant. These perks are not offered on all debit cards. Most of these debit cards are issued by the store which allows you to benefit from this program.

However, it is important to be careful while using a credit card as this can really drown a person in debt. Since you have access to a lot of cash which you usually have, you may be compelled to spend more than you need which can lead to an astronomical debt. If you cannot pay the bank again, well you will get charged with more fines, means you have to pay more money, and your credit score will drop like crazy.

The bank allows you to use a certain amount each month, but, eventually you will have to pay the bank back after you have used their money. Some banks charge interest on the usage of credit cards, whereas some banks do not. The bank can also charge a fee for being late if you pay the bank after the due date which was given to you.

You can free yourself from chains as well; these cards do not limit you to a certain method of usage. You can use them to do some online shopping, or to book yourself a nice trip, with a comfy hotel room, and some pretty cool tours as well. The perks of debit card programs just do not end!

A VISA prepaid card also can be used to make purchases at gas stations, retail stores, and online too. The card can also be recharged to be used over and over again by amount limitations which are set by you. Let us say that you have an idea that your monthly spending is about US $5000 so the minimum amount you will recharge would be US $5000.

Due to the numerous amounts of similarities between a debit card and a VISA prepaid card, it is highly possible to be a bit confused about both cards. Since both cards offer you the advantages of the debit card programs, it can get more confusing to distinguish between them. However, once you know the differences you can avail them to your heart's content.
